Perseverance

I always believe that everyone, even a young child knows what they want; or rather everyone has a dream. However, before they’re able to achieve their dream or goal, they ought to put in a certain amount of effort or even make some sacrifices. I feel that even before thinking that far, we must know of this word, perseverance.

This word so simple, yet there is a deeper meaning which not everyone might know of. Perseverance is not something everyone has, but this is something so important that it can bring someone to success of failure. It is an undeniable fact that people would thinking of giving up at some moments of their life, especially when what we’re facing is a downfall. So this is when this word comes in. when we face some difficulties we’ve to hang on there and not give up, it is a challenge to everyone. I believe if one hanged on there, he’s actually a step higher than what he was. This is like testing yourself, whether you’re capable of persevering and pick yourself up even when you fall.

Relating this to a personal experience, recently I felt that I’m a failure in life. I felt that my studies is not good and now my position in the basketball team has been over-looked. I think that I’ve nothing for my parents to be proud of me.

Last time, even though my studies wasn’t really good, I though I could make it up with my basketball skills. I remember last year, when tournaments were being held in our school, I would be so eager to ask my parents to come down and support us. I was so confident about it as I was still considered and important player in the team.

However, now things changed for the worst. I felt as though my existence was unnecessary. The feeling of not being able to have a chance to perform is way too horrible. However it is even worst when you’re given a chance to prove that you can do it, yet you felt that you no longer acquire they skill to proof to everyone that you’re still capable. Not being someone with high self esteem, but I just hope that I can still at least excel in something, at least to please myself and have my parents to feel happy. At that point of time, I was a the verge of giving up.

After thinking through every day and night, I finally decided to look on the bright side. I decided to take thing easily and look at the brighter side. I persevere for my goal, my suture and my everything. I worked hard every, I read inspirational quotes to motivate myself that I cannot let anyone down. Every training, I would give my very best, despite how tired I was. Although things weren’t that simple, I hanged on there.

At first, I thought even after giving in so much, I would never be able to regain my composure. Then I realized my effort was starting to pay off. I finally achieved reasonably good results; my existence in the team was recognized by everyone, even the teacher in charge of basketball whom I respect a lot.

I learnt that it is very important for people to move on in life despite what difficulties they meet. There’s no way one should give up half way, because that's no what a man who have a dream should be doing. Giving up on something is like giving up on himself. It’s like jumping straight into burning fire and surendding yourself to the hell god.

My favourite Childhood Fairy tale

There was this girl named Cinderella, her mum died and her dad married another woman, who she had to live with. Her dad’s wife is Cinderella’s step mother. Her step mother has two daughters, and her step mother left everything nice for them. All the nice things, kind thoughts and loving touches were for her daughters. And not just the kind thoughts and love, but also beautiful dresses, shoes, shawls, delicious food, comfy beds, as well as every home comfort. Yet she gave all the dirty things to her step-daughter, she had to wear clothes thrown away by her step-sisters, and her meals were nothing but scraps.

Poor Cinderella was treated like a slave; she had to do all the dirty works. She had no nice rests and comfort, for she had to work all day, and only when evening came was she allowed to sit for awhile by the fire, near the cinders. That is actually how she got her nickname, Cinderella. Cinderella used to spend long hours all alone talking to the cat. She was a kind girl who did not grumble despite being treated so badly.

One day when Cinderella’s step-sister was going to the ball. Cinderella wanted to go, but she didn’t ask because she knew very well that the answer would be “no!” "You? My dear girl, you're staying at home to wash the dishes, scrub the floors and turn down the beds for your stepsisters. They will come home tired and very sleepy." Cinderella sighed at the cat.

However, when Cinderella was sitting all by herself, a burst of light and a fairy appeared! The fairy said that the wind blew Cinderella’s sighs and brought her here. The fairy told Cinderella that she should go to the ball, she fling her magic wand and Cinderella was in the most beautiful dress, the loveliest ever seen in the realm. She also wore a pair of unique glass slippers. She then told her to bring her a pumpkin and told the cat to bring seven mices. The fairy turned the pumpkin into a carriage and six mices into white horse and the last mice into a coachman in a smart outfit with a whip on his hand.

The fairy told Cinderella that she would be able to see the prince charming in which the honor was held. She emphasized that Cinderella has to be back before midnight struck because that is when the spell would end. The carriage will turn back into a pumpkin, the horses will become mice again and the coachman will turn back into a mouse. and she will be dressed again in rags and wearing clogs instead of those dainty little slippers.

When Cinderella entered the ball, there was a moment of silence, because everyone stopped in mid-sentence to admire her elegance, her beauty and grace. Cinderella danced with prince charming, and he was in love with her. But when they were dancing, midnight was coming, Cinderella rushed out of the ball without leaving a word behind. She dropped her slipper on the stairs, but not for a moment did she dreamt to pick it up.

Prince charming chased after her, but he stopped to pick up the slipper. He told the ministers to search everywhere for the lady who fits this slipper if not he will not be contented. He said he want to marry the lady who fits the slipper. Finally, the ministers found out that Cinderella was the lady who fits the slipper. They brought her to meet prince charming, and they lived happily every after. (^^v)

Coda-
I’ve learnt that in life, there might be miracles happening. I always thought doing good deeds lie forgiving others; one might not get any thing in return. After some things that I experienced in life, I thought that being a kind-hearted person might not be that good after all. I thought that being the bad person would be better, because you’re harming others but not yourself. But after reading this, I learnt that we, being the good people will get something good in return.
